The trending colors this season are warm and sun-kissed tones, soft peachy pinks and bold corals. vibrant corals and soft pastels and glamorous high-shine lips are perfect for creating feminine, expressive looks this Spring.This trend inspired the contents for the Mary Kay Sun-Kissed VoxBox. I used my favorite products from the #MKGlam box with the help of some other products to create this look. All Mary Kay products were complimentary from Influenster for reviewing and testing purposes. Here are all the products I used.
NYX eyebrow powder to fill in brows
Revlon Photoready bb cream all over face.
Mary Kay Translucent loose powder all over face
Wet n Wild Balm Stain topped with Ulta Super Shiny lipgloss topped with NYX Glam Gloss because I needed more shine
BH Cosmetics Galaxy Chic palette
I used Jupiter on my crease and outer corner. I used Saturn on my eyelids.
ELF Eyelid Primer was applied prior to the eyeshadows.
ELF Prism eyeshadow was used for highlighting under the brow and the inner corners. I used the lightest color.
Mary Kay gel eyeliner was used on both lash lines. I tried to make a bolder look by making it thicker on the outer corner.
Mary Kay lash love mascara was used on the bottom and top lashes.
Here's the finished look with flash and no flash. The no flash is horrible lighting since I did this at night so I wanted to include one with flash. With flash everything looks much more pink that it does in person.
I really love how creamy the eyeliner is. It's much easier to apply than I thought it would be. It has great staying power and is richly pigmented. I like the formula of the mascara, but it didn't go on great this time because I got some eyeliner on my lashes. Therefore they look a little clumpy as compared to the other times I used this mascara. The loose powder is perfect for setting my bb cream to make sure it stays put when I'm out and about. I didn't wear this look out anywhere, but I have worn the mascara and powder to a BBQ. It still looked great several hours later when I got home. I am considering repurchasing the mascara.
I was so excited to get chosen for this box. I have never tried Mary Kay products. I love trying out new makeup, but I don't always have the money to go out and purchase products. I'm thankful for programs like Influenster that can give me and other beauty product lovers a chance to test out new stuff for free. The Mary Kay box included nine items. I didn't really care for the cream eye color. The color barely showed up on my skin tone and it's not a color I would typically wear. I understand why they included this color, but I would have loved to try out one of the other colors instead. I could have managed to work with the color on future eye looks if it didn't also look drying on my eye lids. I'm not sure if that's an issue with the formula overall or just this color. I have tried other cream eye colors that I like that are less expensive so I would not purchase this in other colors at $14 a pop.
I liked the gel eyeliner. I am not sure what I did with the brush so that's why it's missing from the picture. I used one of my E.L.F. brushes to apply it to my upper lash line. Although I own a couple gel eyeliners from other brands, this was my first experience with using it. I really like how creamy it was and it glided on so easily. I love how pigmented it is and it seemed to have staying power. I do set all eyeliner regardless of brand/type with a black/dark eyeshadow. While I'm not sure that I would repurchase at the $18 price tag, it did help me feel more comfortable using a gel eyeliner. I would definitely recommend this product.
The powder brush appeared to be a bonus item as it wasn't listed on the information card. I did not use this brush because I didn't like how it felt on hands even after washing. It is not soft. It feels scratchy. I expected better quality for a $18 brush.
I had no issues with the cream eye color brush. It worked fine for applying the cream eye color and is a nice addition to my brush collection. Although I like this brush, I would not repurchase it at the $10 price point.
This lip gloss was sticky and had a slight fruity scent. The formula didn't really entice me to want to purchase other colors. Mango Tango is an orange-red color with shimmer and not a color I would ever buy for myself. Since it can go on sheer, I was able to make it work and get a lip look that I didn't completely hate. This lip gloss is available in several shades at $14.
I've used translucent loose powders before so I was very familiar with this type of product. It's pretty similar to the ones I have from other brands so I don't think I would repurchase this one for $16. I do like it and it did deliver what the product promises - Feels weightless, natural and velvety soft on skin, Provides a sheer, invisible finish.I love that the sifter can be locked to help prevent a mess. I would recommend this product as well.
Now I usually hate mascaras with this type of wand, but I loved this one. This was my favorite item in the box. I liked the formula and how it applied. I loved the look of my lashes after using this mascara. I would be willing to purchase this at the $15 price as I feel it's worth it. The name is perfect as I had lash love after using it.
