Attention Busy Moms: Get a Salon-Quality Manicure At-home with imPRESS Manicure

Attention Busy Moms: Get a Salon-Quality Manicure At-home with imPRESS Manicure

I was extremely excited to get the opportunity to try out imPress gel manicure nails. I'm a stay at home mom so when I do get the chance to paint my nails they always end up getting messed up that day. I either don't have time to let them fully dry or cleaning causes them to get chipped. With the imPRESS nails there is no waiting for anything to dry and you don't have deal with messy nail glue. Each set comes with 24 nails, prep pad, and file. There are so many colors and patterns to choose from so you can easily find the perfect set to match your style or mood.

Here is what the prep pad, file, and nails look like right out of the package. Just a warning, the prep pad has a really strong smell so make sure you are in a big or well ventilated room.

Applying the nails is super easy. Find the one that fits your nail then peel the backing off. Press it on the nail and you're done!

It is worth noting that some nails have piece on the end that wasn't removed at the factory so you will need to file that down. I took a close up of my thumb nail so you can see what I'm referring too.

I really loved how my nails looked after all of the ImPRESS nails had been applied. They never look this nice when I paint them. The mega gel shine made them look like I had been to a salon. I wouldn't suggest doing anything that requires a lot of use of your fingers in the first hour. I made the mistake of typing a blog post shortly after I put them on and the index nail popped up.

These would be perfect for special occasions for anyone that is pressed on time or money. They very affordable at just $7.99 each at Walgreens. You can also find them at other drugstores and mass merchandise retailers. Visit  www.imPRESSmanicure.com to check out all the available designs.

Starlooks September Looks Book "Revival"

Every month, Starlooks delivers three perfect size limited edition products right to your door tucked inside a cool box for just $12. To start your Looks Book subscription, click here.

The mascara is  called flora and is a green colored mascara. The spectrum mascara formula is wet so it takes a little longer to dry. This is good for those of you that like to build it up. I didn't find this mascara to be lengthening or volumizing so it wouldn't be one that I reach for. I have barely there lashes and this mascara just didn't help them at all. Also since my lashes are dark, I couldn't see the color on them either.

This is a matte lipstick in the color  rawr and matte lips are totally on trend right now. I'm not a fan of matte lipsticks so unfortunately I didn't like it. The color is a very pretty bright pink that would be perfect to pair with nude eye looks for the fall season.

The eyeshadow duo is called agave and features matte shades of a mauve toned pink and an olive green. The shadows are slightly chalky but have good color pay off. They are easy to build and blend.

Here is the look I created with the eye products from this month's box. I used the green in the crease, the mauve on the lid, and snuck in the highlighter from last month's box on the inner corner. I also used the noir long wear eyeliner from the July custom box and can still be purchased from the Starlooks website.. I think the look came out beautiful and is perfect for the fall season.

Starlooks Looks Book Resort Edition

Starlooks just launched their new subscription boxes. The Looks Book is $12 a month and features three brand new limited edition products plus three gift cards. The products are "perfect size" and fit into a super cute travel box. You will be able to order past Looks Books for $19.

If you would like to subscribe now, please click here.

The August box is called Resort Edition and features products to perfect your beach look. It comes with a highlighter & blush duo, a lipstick, and an eyeshadow.

The highlighter is in the shade Tropic. It is a gorgeous  shimmery gold and will highlight your sun kissed skin beautifully. The blush is in the shade Ritz and it is a lovely coral color. Both feel so buttery, apply smoothly, and are very pigmented. The swatches are just one swipe of product. These shades will have you dreaming of sand and seashells.

The lipstick has a gloss like finish and will first apply sheer. You can build it up to customize the color depth. It has a moisturizing formula and Starlooks suggest exfoliating your lips first to take full advantage of that.  The swatch shown is several passes. The color name is Jet Set and it's a light coral shade. You will be holding onto those beach sunsets when you rock this lipstick color.

The water eyeshadow in Aqua has an incredible satin finish that will have you shimmering like a mermaid. It would be the perfect inner corner color or amazing all over the eyelid. You can apply directly to the eye or just a small shadow brush. I am totally in love with this unique color.

This first Looks Book was so incredible! I can't wait to see what products are in the next box. Would like to receive a Looks Book every month? You can sign up here.

Starlooks Custom Starbox - July & August 2015

Starlooks is a monthly beauty subscription. You get three  Starlooks brand makeup items delivered each month for only $12. The products may be full size or "perfect" size meaning they contain about 70% of product versus a full size. You get the chance to pick your three items from a limited selection along with three gift cards.

You can subscribe to Starlooks by clicking here.

For July I chose lip gloss, blush, and eyeliner.

The Skin Perfecting Blush is in the color Rose Gold and is sheer peachy shade. It would be perfect for a more natural flush of color. The color can be built up if desired and used for highlighting or bronzing as well. This is limited edition and you can pick it up here for $14.50.

I've been a fan of Starlooks lip gloss and eyeliners for a while now so I was very excited that I got to pick both for my box. The lip gloss is in the color Mad Crush  and is a beautiful everyday pinky nude. It's not sticky and has sweet scent. It's nicely pigmented and would look great all year round. The eyeliner is in the color Noir which is a black shade and has fun glitter packaging. It is a smooth pigmented eyeliner that has great staying power. The eyeliner is $10.25 and the lip gloss is $9.00.

I chose two Starlooks gift cards, but haven't had the chance to place an order yet. I will do a separate post to show the products when I do. The third gift card is to Love With Onyx. This website features urban fashion and jewelry.

For my August box I chose a brush, an eyeshadow, and a lip gloss.

The eyeshadow is in the color Gold Coast and it's a shimmery bronze shade. It is not very pigmented and took several swatches on my hand to build it up.  I think it will be great for creating beautiful Autumn looks though. You can also use it as a bronzer! You can buy it here for $13.00.

The lip gloss is in the color Just Say Yes. It is a beautiful coral shade with glitter. I'm absolutely in love with color. It smells fruity and sweet thanks to the exclusive exotic vanilla scent. The glitter is not irritating on the lips and the gloss applies smoothly. You can purchase it here for $9.

This is a full size slanted liner brush. I like to use these to blend out or smudge my upper lash line eyeliner since I don't use potted ones. The brush is soft and not scratchy on the eyelid. It can also be used to apply brow powder. I love brushes that have multiple uses! Want to get your hands on one? Go here and add it to your cart for $18.

I picked three Starlooks gift cards this month. I can't wait to pick up some favorites and try out some new products.

YSL Mascara Volume Effect Faux Cils Review

I received this product complimentary from Influenster for review purposes.

This mascara retails for $32. It can be purchased directly from the YSL website or from Sephora. This mascara claims to give you the false lash effect and has a nylon fiber brush.

The packaging on this mascara is beautiful. It would look really nice displayed on a vanity. It doesn't have that funky mascara smell either. It smells like a fragrance may have been added in, but it didn't irritate my eyes. Unfortunately, this mascara did not work for me. I have barely there lashes and did not get a false lash effect. I think this would work better for someone with normal to full lashes.
