Lollipops & Lipgloss: November 2014

Fortune Cookie Soap offers a seasonal quarterly box for $19.99. These ship in February, May, August, and November. They also include a coupon code for $10 so that's like paying $9.99 for your box! This year's winter box is inspired by National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation and is call Old Fashioned Family Christmas. These items will be available for purchase in full size on November 21st at 6 PM CDT. The scents will be sold in various products. The pictures below show you how the box arrives. Please note I purchased two boxes. Each box contains 8 items. Now let's get to what's inside! I've taken the pictures of me holding the items so you can get an idea on sizes.

The first item is the fortune cookie soap and comes in every box. The scent is called 'Tis the Season to be Mary and is described as sweet almond and tobacco. To me it just smells like soap. So if you prefer to just smell clean, this may be the scent for you. The one you get in the box will be the same size you get if you order one online. They are around $3 each. Price varies based on how they decorated and/or colored.

The OCD hand sanitizer is another product that's in every box and is considered full size. They do however now offer a larger size on the website. The smaller size is $2.89. The OCD is called Mele Kelekimaka as is described as tropical spiced rum, Tahitian vanilla, jasmine petals, and twisted woods. It reminds of a fruity cocktail that you would order at a bar while on vacation. It smells very tropical and reminds more of a summer scent.

The shower steamers are great for those of you without a bath tub. The one in the box is considered full size, but when you buy them you will get a set of 3 individually wrapped for $5.99. The scent is called I Pledge Allegiance, Amen! and is described as a blend of blue spruce and balsam fir with fresh mint and garden herbs. All I get from this is mint, and strong mint at that. It would probably be a really good one if you were sick or needed a wake up in your morning shower.

I was really excited to finally try out a cuticle butter and so happy that I loved this scent. It's called Moose Mug and is a blend of rich cream, egg, and nutmeg. It smells so yummy and feels so nice on my hands. This is a scent that I will be getting other items in. It's a very sweet scent so if that's your thing you will love this too. I think it's a good choice for a holiday scent. From what others have posted, this is thought to be full size.

Another product that I was interested in trying was the hydrate me. You use this like a lotion, but while you are still in the shower. You apply it to wet skin, but don't rinse off. I really liked the scent and felt it was perfect for the season. Some people felt it was similar to fall scent at Bath and Body Works. It's called Sparky and is described as vanilla pumpkin waffles topped with brown sugar, pecans, and whipped cream. It smells as yummy as it sounds. Plus they made them look like cute christmas lights! One lucky person will find a black bulb and win a $50 gift card. Regular size hydrate me sell for $9.99.

Every box contains a product they are well know for, the whipped creams. As with the fall box, you could get 1 of 4 scents. I got Bend Over & I'll Show you which is tart cranberry, crisp pine, herbal spruce, clove, and sweet mandarin orange. It smells like fruity pine just as you would expect. I'm just not into pine or tree scents. My other box had Squirrel which is apples, strawberries, plums, orange, and lime. Sadly, I didn't really care for this either. I'm not into apple scents either, but others felt this was another dupe for a Bath and Body Works scent from the winter line. The other scents are Jello Surprise and Jelly of the Month. These whipped creams are mini size and can be purchased in sets of 4 for $12.99. You can also pick up a large size for $10.99.

The winter box contained two brand new items! The first is a whipped soap. It's called Fried Pussycat and is described as plum, whipped caramel, bourbon vanilla, and jasmine blossoms. It smells like a faint fruity soap, like a body wash I would pick up at the drugstore. I was really hoping for a much sweeter scent, but it's still a nice clean soap smell. The whipped soap settled during shipping so many people got almost empty containers. The company is working on fixing this before the launch.

The other new product and last one in the box is the deep conditioner. I would have loved to try this, but I don't like the scent. It's called Christmas Bonus and the description is kept secret. If you can guess the scent you win a $50 gift card. I won't post my thoughts on what it smells like other than what I've already said.
